Sculpture is the main work in my studio now. After decades working in architecture, design and fabrication I coalesced my energies into a full-time sculpture studio practice in 2012. My works are iterative and abstractions of what I see in nature and in the places where humans interact with nature. My experiences in building, in structural engineering coordination, in permitting and zoning all have led to much of my work being large.

The main imprint experiences I’ve had with sculpture have come from a life of visiting museums around the globe, and of managing and watching the installation of sculptures for clients I had while running my design firm Intelligent Design. The most impactful of these was aiding Patrick Dougherty in creating The Nest for W+K in Portland, Oregon, USA and in co-designing furniture with Arne Quinze and his team of genius Belgians.

My sculptures are usually one-off pieces created as a commission for a specific place however more recently I’ve developed several “series” collections: the recognizable “Grass Ballet” collection and the “Flow” collection of rolled aluminum structures.
